First Generation Pre-Med Scholarship (Transfer Students)

Each academic year, one (1) scholarship of $12,500 will be awarded to one continuing
student and (1) scholarship of $12,500 to one transfer student within the College of Science
in accordance with the criteria for selection, as follows:

• Open to Junior standing students or transfer students who self-identify as First-
Generation
• Students must have financial need and be eligible to file a FAFSA (Free Application
for Federal Student Aid) or a CADAA (California Dream Act Application)
• Open to all majors who are accepted to Stan State and self-identify as pre-med and
have completed at least one year in the following college level courses: biology,
chemistry, and math.
• Eligible Junior standing students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA
• Eligible transfer students must transfer from a community college located in either
Stanislaus or Merced Counties and have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and 60
transferable units and have plans for a four-year degree
• Scholarship is renewable for up to 2 years, if the students maintain a minimum 3.5
GPA, and are on track to complete pre-med and degree requirements. The
scholarship renewal will be on an annual basis.
• Preference for students who speak more than one language.
